Champions Cup Round 5: Who to support

Champions Cup qualification is still a very real possibility for Glasgow with the final 2 rounds of fixtures looming. But which sequence of results maximises the club’s chances of progression and who should the Warriors faithful be cheering on over another big weekend of rugby?

A Leinster win over Montpellier, ideally with the French side getting no BPs and meaning they cannot finish on more than 16 points.

A Northampton win over Castres will end any lingering thoughts the visitors might have about the quarter finals.

50/50 call on this one but with a game against Connacht to come (Wasps play at Zebre in the final round) Toulouse are the percentage pick with no BPs for either side.

Glasgow over Munster obviously!

Hopefully Racing will take their last chance to prevent a complete whitewash in Pool 1. This would leave Leicester in a position where they cannot catch the Warriors.

Saracens continuing their 100% record will kill off Scarlets faint hopes of progressing.

Similarly Clermont can essentially eliminate Bordeaux from the competition.

An improbable Sharks win is the ideal – but failing that if the men from Manchester can at least stop Toulon getting the try BP it hopefully keeps the points total to qualify within reach of one more Glasgow win.

A home win down at Sandy Park for the Chiefs will reduce the chances of Ulster overhauling the Warriors.
